Extended Practicums
Why Should I Take An Extended Practicum?
- You need additional teaching hours to apply for an Orton Gillingham certification.
- You value the additional coaching that you get when you take one of our Extended Practicum Programs.
- You want to build your OG teaching skills before you begin with your own students.
We supply the students for you - all you do is show up on Zoom M/W or T/TH at 5:00 and/or 6:00 p.m. Central. Easy!
If you are planning to apply for certification with us, or any other certifying agency, you will need additional practicum hours in addition to the ones you earned in our OG Training Program. We offer the following options to earn more practicum hours.
Extended Practicums
Extended Practicum Program
Price: $600 or $800, depending on the number of OG Fellow observations.*
Prerequisite: Orton Gillingham Training Course at Orton Gillingham Reading Specialists
Provides:
- Up to 60 additional practicum hours.
- Supervision and feedback from an OGRS Master Specialist.
- Coaching during your Orton Gillingham Academy, Associate Level certification application process.
- Students to work with during the practicum.
- *Three (3) or Four (4) observations by Karen Sonday, OGA Fellow, including written and verbal feedback.
